VetoSeal

NON-ANTIBIOTIC TEAT SEALANT

KEYS TO HELP PREVENT NEW INTRAMAMMARY INFECTIONS

THE IMPORTANCE OF SEALING THE TEAT
During dry-off, a keratin plug naturally closes the teat canal. One study showed more than 50% of teats remain open one week after dry-off, and 23% remained open six weeks after dry-off. Open teats can lead to increased infections acquired during the dry period, increased cases of mastitis post-calving, and elevated somatic cell counts.

Why is a two-stage tip better than a single stage tip?
Since partial insertion is the preferred approach, the two-stage tip syringe of VetoSeal™ may prevent unnecessary damage to the teat canal and reduce the risk of infection. Note that full insertion may be needed for some cows.

Ask your veterinarian if VetoSeal is indicated for your herd.

VetoSeal teat sealant is indicated as an aid in the prevention of new intramammary infection throughout the dry period by providing a malleable barrier in the teat canal. This results in a reduction in the incidence of clinical mastitis in the dry period. It is recommended that VetoSeal be used as part of a herd approach to dry cow management and mastitis control.

For use in non-lactating dairy cattle

FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY

VetoSeal is presented in syringes with a 2-Stage tip. This 2-Stage tip allows for either full or partial insertion into the teat orifice. Partial insertion only is preferable, as it may prevent unnecessary damage to the teat orifice and reduce the risk of infection. Full insertion may be needed for large teat orifices.

VetoSeal teat sealant is a sterile, antibiotic-free, off-white smooth paste. It is presented, ready to use, in syringes, each containing 4 g of intramammary infusion composed of 65% Bismuth Subnitrate, in a mineral oil vehicle.

Available in these package sizes: 144 syringes x 4g (36 cows) and 60 syringes x 4g (15 cows)

VetoSeal teat sealant should be stored at room temperature. In very cold temperatures, the product may become difficult to administer and should be warmed to room temperature. Individual syringes should not be immersed in water. For the 144x4g format, the VetoSeal bucket can be lowered into a 5 gallon bucket filled with warm water to warm the syringes.
