Vetoquinol Canada is proud to announce the appointment of Dr Virginie Filteau as Technical Veterinarian - Production Animals, Quebec.

Dr Filteau graduated from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMV) in 1995. She subsequently obtained a Diploma of Specialized Studies in Animal Population Medicine and a master’s degree in Clinical Sciences from the same institution.

From 1995 to 2011, from the FMV Ambulatory Service to the Coaticook Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Filteau worked as a large animal veterinarian with a primary focus on preventive medicine for dairy herds.

She held the position of General Manager at DSAHR, a company owned by the Quebec Veterinary Practitioner Association (AMVPQ) from 2007 to 2014. During this time, she was involved in developing software for animal herd health monitoring, the continuing education of veterinary practitioners and the optimization of computerized health records.

Since 2014, she has been working in the pharmaceutical industry as a veterinarian in technical services for different regions across Canada. Her areas of interest are mastitis prevention and milk quality, calf health and optimal herd immunity.

Dr. Filteau is a frequent guest speaker and a member of various committees in the dairy and beef industries in the province of Quebec. Her professional mission is to promote animal welfare and management practices that improve farm productivity. She is also committed to the synergistic collaboration of the various stakeholders in the dairy and beef industries.
