Clavaseptin Million Pixel Donation Raises $25K for the Canadian Animal Blood Bank

21 / Dec / 2020 12:07

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its best-selling antibiotic treatment Clavaseptin, Vetoquinol Canada has launched a digital campaign in support of the Canadian Animal Blood Bank. Over the months of August and September, the Million Pixel Donation initiative raised $25,000 with the generous contribution of participating veterinary clinics, and an additional $10,000 from corporate sponsors*.

Making Blood Transfusions Possible for Canadian Pets
The Canadian Animal Blood Bank is a registered charity that supplies high quality blood products to Canadian veterinarians, educates veterinary science professionals in transfusion medicine and raises awareness in the general public about the need for canine blood banking. In addition to its head office in Winnipeg, the organization operates satellite collection sites in Calgary, Edmonton, various Southern Ontario locations, Montreal and Moncton.

A Million Times Thank You
Clavaseptin Million Pixel Donation is a webpage featuring a photo mosaic filled with images of donating clinics, along with the number of animals their generosity helped save. “180 clinics throughout Canada contributed to helping Clavaseptin raise $25,000 through this campaign – we’re grateful for this incredible level of support,” says Richard Caron, Marketing manager for the companion animals division at Vetoquinol Canada.

Increased Blood Supply Capacity in Canada
This generous donation will provide the Canadian Animal Blood Bank with the necessary funds to increase its reach in the country. “The contribution made by Vetoquinol through the Clavaseptin Million Pixel Donation campaign will allow us to properly equip two regional units, thus expanding our ability to supply blood products to a broader area of the country,” says Ken Mould, President of the Canadian Animal Blood Bank.

How You Can Support the Canadian Animal Blood Bank
Pet owners can assist by volunteering their dog as blood donor if the animal meets the size, age, health and disposition criteria. “Simply contact the Canadian Animal Blood Bank and we’ll direct you to the nearest Regional Unit Location,” says Ken Mould. The organization also accepts personal donations through its website, canadiananimalbloodbank.ca. These funds go toward the purchase of capital equipment required by CABB Regional Units.

10 Years of Giving Back to Pets and Partners
Clavaseptin Million Pixel Donation represents the fourth large-scale charity project by Clavaseptin. In 2012, Vetoquinol has helped Veterinarians Without Border teach communities in Laos about animal health, nutrition and disease control through its Paws for Thought Project. In 2016, its Goat Pass-On Project provided care and goats to Ugandan families to help secure their income. And in 2017, the Canada-North Project raised $30,000 to help Veterinarians Without Border provide increased services and support to Northern Canadian communities.

“Projects like these are made possible by the generosity and commitment of our partner veterinary clinics from coast to coast”, adds Firstname Lastname. “We at Vetoquinol are proud to have been part of this latest fundraising campaign and would like to thank everyone involved in making it such a success.”

* A special thank you to Purina and VetCare for their $5,000 donation for a combined total of $10,000. Your generosity was greatly appreciated by the CABB as well as the Vetoquinol Canada team.
